The "why" behind Crossvine Recruiting

A few years ago, I had the conversation with my dad about his career in sales, and more specifically, his work in recruiting, after he retired from a 26-year corporate career at Johnson & Johnson.  He had lots of interesting stories, but the last thing he said hit me like a ton of bricks. It was so profound that I asked him to repeat himself.

He repeated it, “of all the things I have done in my career, I think the most rewarding thing was recruiting because of how it positively impacted people’s lives.” As I dug deeper on this statement, I realized that it wasn’t about the money, the awards, or the promotions…it all came down to the people and that elusive feeling of warmth that comes from helping others.

Without fully knowing it, this statement and this realization was the moment of conception for Crossvine Recruiting. I have always loved to help people find jobs, get promoted, and grow professionally. Starting Crossvine was a dream that allowed me to take advantage of my 20+ years of experience and connections in the healthcare industry, and pass along valuable knowledge to others seeking to improve their career.

Carrying a sales bag for over 20 years has come with the good fortune of interacting with a lot of talented people. Having worked for some of the titans of the industry (Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, and Intuitive Surgical) along with some fantastic small start-ups has afforded me a lot of industry insider knowledge.

Our Vision at Crossvine is to take that knowledge and those connections and use them to your advantage.

  • For the candidate, we want to be the vine that allows you to cross over into your next career.
  • For the manager, we want to be your connection to that special person that allows you to grow and expand your coaching tree.

In both instances, Crossvine gets the opportunity to participate in your growth…as a company and as an individual.

No matter what, keep growing.

Crossvine recruiting: what's in a name?

When you start a company, the first thing everyone asks you is, “What are you going to call it?” While a simple question, the answer and the reason behind the answer are never quite so simple. In truth, it is kind of like naming a child; you agonize and analyze over thousands of different options, until one day something sticks.

For those of you that aren’t into horticulture or gardening, we will explain the name Crossvine. Crossvine is a plant that grows vertically by connecting to another structure like a trellis, fence, or arbor. By itself, the vine is not particularly strong, but via its connections, it can grow tall and flourish. The strength of the Crossvine comes from the intertwined connections that it forms over the years.

Sound familiar? This Crossvine grows as our careers grow…forming connections to others and gaining strength from those connections.
